Salted peanut butter granola! With just a handful of ingredients, you can make this yummy peanut butter granola for breakfast bowls, which is also great for gifting.
Every time I make homemade granola, I think– why don’t I make this more often? A handful of this salted peanut butter granola when I’m making dinner, a sprinkle over yogurt and berries, a garnish for my vanilla chia seed pudding— it all works.
This granola is fairly simple to make and packed with peanut butter flavor. If you love peanut butter, then you’re going to want to make this peanut butter granola.

Ingredient Notes
- Peanut Butter: This granola recipe calls for peanut butter, but you can substitute any nut butter if you prefer a nut-free option. Almond butter works well, as does tahini.
- Maple Syrup: I like the flavor of maple syrup in this recipe, but you can also sub in honey or even agave, if you’d like.
- Oil: I recommend canola oil or vegetable oil for this recipe as I like the neutral flavor, but you could sub in olive oil if you’d like. I find that olive oil has a stronger taste.
- Rolled Oats: I do a combination of both rolled oats and instant oats for this recipe, as the instant oats help with creating clumpy clusters, and the rolled oats provide better texture. I do think a combination of both is best. I buy both for my kids for breakfast, so I always have a bunch around the house. However, if you only have rolled oats then you can add some to a blender (affiliate) or food processor (affiliate) and pulse until finely chopped– this is instant oats!

How to Make this Peanut Butter Granola Recipe
Whisk together the peanut butter mixture

In a large bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, maple syrup, oil, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.Â
Add in the oats

Stir in the rolled oats, quick oats and peanuts
Spread onto a baking sheet

Spread the mixture onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy removal. Spread the mixture in an even, single layer and bake for 30 minutes or until just golden brown.
Let cool

Let cool completely, this is what gives the granola the clumps! Store in jars in the pantry or the fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you make your own Instant Oats?
If you only have rolled oats, then you can make your own instant oats by adding the oats to a food processor or blender and lightly pulsing a few times to create a finer oat.
Can I use other sweeteners?
Yes, you can use honey or other liquid sweetener if you’d like in this peanut butter granola.
Can you add in other mix-ins?
If you want to add in other mix-ins, like dried fruit, then I recommend doing it right before the granola is done cooking. Otherwise, you will dry the dried fruit out too much.
Is this recipe gluten-free?
This recipe is gluten-free as long as you use gluten-free oats.

- Add in the oats and stir until well combined. Add in the peanuts and toss again.Â
- Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Remove the granola from the oven and let sit for at least 30 minutes before touching. This is what allows the granola to form large clumps! Let cool completely and store in jars or an air-tight jar.Â
